The island of Amrum

Amrum, an island of 20 square kilometres, has a rather special calling card, a wide offshore bank of sand known as the "Kniepsand". Beyond it ranges a wild, unspoilt landscape of dunes towering up to 30 metres in height

Ausflugsziel Amrum

The island has only three villages: Norddorf with its popular pedestrian precinct, Nebel with its thatched Fresian houses and historic village centre, and Wittdün with the maritime flair of its harbour. Also worth a look are two old windmills, the lighthouse – at 64 metres the highest on the German North Sea coast – and the local history museum in Nebel.
